Spanish government delayed establishing Plus Ultra bailout oversight committee, judicial filings show

Email submitted to Spain's Audiencia Nacional shows state holding company SEPI waited a year to form a monitoring panel for Plus Ultra's bailout.
Former Plus Ultra chief executive Roberto Roselli has submitted an email to Spain's Audiencia Nacional revealing that state holding company SEPI took nearly a year to formally set up a committee to monitor the airline's bailout.
Judicial investigations into the rescue package indicate that Spanish authorities exercised minimal oversight over how the public funds were disbursed and spent. According to court records, files initially delivered to the magistrate contained no substantive monitoring data. The email provided by Roselli shows that SEPI only initiated the formal creation of the oversight body in February 2022, approximately twelve months after the financial assistance was awarded.
