Spain is becoming the primary European hub for Chinese automakers, hosting over six assembly projects designed to navigate EU tariffs.
Spain has established itself as the primary European entry point for Chinese automotive manufacturers, hosting more than six investment and vehicle assembly projects across the country.
Most of these ventures focus on assembling vehicles using European-made components. This strategy allows Chinese companies to meet required local content thresholds, enabling them to avoid European Union import tariffs on foreign vehicles.
At the same time, regional Catalan business bodies, including Foment del Treball and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce, are actively exploring new commercial partnerships and investment avenues in Eastern markets.
