Russian strikes kill over 20 in Ukraine as Moscow claims eastern advances

Overnight Russian missile and drone strikes across Ukraine have left at least 22 people dead and dozens injured. In the Kyiv region, local officials reported at least 17 fatalities and over 40 injuries following intense bombardment by ballistic missiles and drones that triggered several fires in and around the capital.

Further south, attacks in the Dnipropetrovsk region killed five people and wounded 16 across five districts. Strikes involving approximately 180 drones targeted the Odesa, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia regions, damaging civilian infrastructure, including a gas station near Kryvyi Rih.

On the eastern front, Moscow claimed its forces seized the settlements of Vasyutinske and Toretsk in the Donetsk region, while Ukrainian military officials acknowledged fierce frontline engagements without confirming territorial losses.
