Russian President Vladimir Putin holds talks with leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan

Russian President Vladimir Putin held separate telephone conversations with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev over two consecutive days. The discussion with Pashinyan focused primarily on bilateral relations and emerging challenges in economic cooperation between Moscow and Yerevan.

The high-level contacts coincided with renewed diplomatic friction after statements by Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova regarding Nagorno-Karabakh and the Collective Security Treaty Organization. Her remarks sparked a verbal exchange between Baku and Moscow, underscoring persistent geopolitical tensions across the South Caucasus region.
