Russia will ban all dairy imports from Armenia starting July 27 following safety inspections that revealed procedural and sanitary violations at processing facilities.

Russia's agricultural oversight agency, Rosselkhoznadzor, announced it will suspend all imports of milk and dairy products from Armenia starting July 27. The regulatory body stated that inspections conducted between July 14 and July 21 at Armenian processing facilities revealed multiple safety and procedural non-compliance issues.

According to the agency, the violations included deficiencies in product traceability, veterinary documentation, raw material monitoring, and overall production safety. Russian officials also cited concerns over milk sourced from diseased livestock being exported to the Russian market.

The restrictions mark an escalation in trade friction between the two countries, adding economic strain to bilateral relations as sanitary inspectors enforce stricter border controls on Armenian food exporters.
