EU pledges response as German police link Moscow to Leipzig drone incident

Russian drone strikes hit Kyiv while German authorities linked Moscow to explosive drones in Leipzig, prompting warnings from the EU.
Russian forces launched renewed overnight drone strikes on Kyiv, injuring a woman following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's address to the United Nations General Assembly. Concurrently, the Russian defense ministry announced an intensified campaign aimed at Ukraine's energy infrastructure, while Ukrainian drone strikes targeted Russian oil refineries, prompting fuel import shortages in Russia.
In Germany, authorities identified two suspects with ties to Moscow after locating explosive drones near critical infrastructure in Leipzig. In response to the incident, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen condemned the activity, affirming that the European Union will not tolerate attacks on its territory and stands prepared to respond to foreign aggression.
