Romania intercepts second drone near Ukrainian border

For the second day in a row, Romanian F-16 fighter jets intercepted an unauthorized drone entering national airspace near the Ukrainian border.
For the second consecutive day, Romania intercepted an unauthorized drone violating its airspace near the Ukrainian border. The Romanian Ministry of Defense reported that the intrusion was detected at 08:22 local time, prompting the immediate deployment of two F-16 fighter jets. One of the aircraft successfully shot down the unmanned aerial vehicle over an uninhabited area.
The incident occurs amid continued Russian strikes against targets in Ukraine, which have repeatedly caused spillover effects into neighboring North Atlantic Treaty Organization territory. Romanian authorities have maintained heightened airspace monitoring along the border in response to ongoing regional military activity and recurring drone incursions.
