Poland accelerates domestic production of South Korean K2PL tanks to 2028 under an expanded technology transfer agreement.

Poland has moved to expedite the domestic production of South Korean K2PL main battle tanks by four months ahead of its initial schedule. Under the revised timeline, assembly lines in Poland are set to roll out their first K2PL tanks by April 2028, with fully locally manufactured units expected by 2029.

The agreement involves a substantial transfer of technology from South Korea, allowing Polish facilities to manufacture critical tank components locally rather than relying solely on vehicle assembly. Concurrently, Warsaw continues to bolster its broader armored capabilities through ongoing acquisitions of American M1 Abrams tanks.
