Pentagon awards major contracts to Raytheon for AMRAAMs and Boeing for Navy fighter

The US Defense Department has awarded multi-billion dollar contracts to Raytheon for AMRAAM missile production and Boeing for the U.S. Navy's F/A-XX sixth-generation fighter jet.
The United States Department of Defense has announced two major military contracts worth over $20 billion each.
RTX subsidiary Raytheon received a multi-year contract valued at up to $20.7 billion to manufacture Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM). Spanning five years with two additional option years, the agreement aims to significantly expand annual production capacity to meet rising domestic and international demand.
Concurrently, Boeing secured a $20 billion development contract from the U.S. Navy for the F/A-XX program, beating out competitor Northrop Grumman. The award covers manufacturing initial test aircraft and development for the Navy's sixth-generation carrier-based stealth fighter jet following an extended period of quiet progress.
