OPEC+ moves to raise oil production as output cuts phase out
OPEC+ key members are increasing production quotas, phasing out voluntary supply cuts of 1.65 million barrels per day established in 2023.
Key members of the OPEC+ oil alliance are proceeding to raise production quotas, gradually ending voluntary supply reductions of 1.65 million barrels per day initially established in 2023. Seven core producers—Saudi Arabia, Russia, Iraq, Kuwait, Algeria, Kazakhstan, and Oman—are adjusting their monthly targets upward.
The alliance is also conducting a comprehensive assessment of its members' production capacities to establish baseline quotas for 2027. The shift follows structural changes within the group, including the exit of the United Arab Emirates from OPEC earlier this year. By increasing supply, member nations are recalibrating market distribution while evaluating long-term production potential.
