Russian gas producer Novatek has started building a major Murmansk LNG terminal and storage tank complex in Kola Bay, according to satellite imagery.

Russian natural gas company Novatek has begun building a major industrial facility in Kola Bay, situated directly across from the Northern Fleet headquarters in Severomorsk.

According to satellite imagery, the Murmansk LNG project covers roughly one square kilometer. The site features at least 15 storage tanks and a new terminal facility currently under construction along the shoreline. The development marks a further expansion of Russia's liquefied natural gas export infrastructure in the Arctic region as initial groundwork progresses.
