Lockheed Martin advocates for sea-based ballistic missile defense systems

Lockheed Martin emphasized the operational flexibility and mobility of ship-based Aegis missile defense systems over stationary land installations at a German naval conference.
US defense contractor Lockheed Martin has highlighted the advantages of sea-based Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) over stationary land-based installations. Speaking at the 28th DWT Naval Conference, Emma Stawnychy, a senior manager at Lockheed Martin's Moorestown facility, stated that naval vessels equipped with the Aegis combat system offer significantly higher flexibility and mobility than fixed positions on land.
Maritime missile defense capabilities allow defense assets to be redeployed dynamically in response to evolving threat environments, offering adaptable protection for coastal territories and naval formations.
