Kyiv hit by Russian missiles as NATO conducts drills near Kaliningrad

Russian ballistic missiles struck Kyiv while Ukrainian drones hit a Russian oil refinery, as NATO forces held maneuvers near Kaliningrad.
Russian forces launched a ballistic missile attack on Kyiv overnight following the departure of US envoys, killing at least two people and injuring six others. The bombardment follows earlier strikes on industrial sites in northern Ukraine.
In response, Ukrainian drone strikes targeted facilities in Russia's Saratov and Samara regions, igniting a fire at the Kuibyshev oil refinery. Samara Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishev reported that "the enemy targeted industrial enterprises" while air defenses intercepted dozens of incoming drones.
Concurrently, US-led NATO operations near the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad involved Polish ground forces alongside American and Norwegian aircraft. NATO officials described the maneuvers as routine efforts to maintain defensive readiness.
