Kyiv faces renewed drone strikes as Russia targets energy grid

Russian forces launched fresh drone strikes against Kyiv as Moscow targets Ukraine's energy grid, while the EU warns against Russian sabotage attempts.
Russian forces launched further overnight drone strikes against Kyiv, injuring at least one person, following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's address to the UN General Assembly.
Moscow's defence ministry confirmed a new campaign targeting Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Simultaneously, Ukrainian long-range strikes against Russian oil refineries have disrupted local fuel supplies, forcing Moscow to import petrol.
Concurrently, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen declared that the European Union "will not tolerate attacks on EU soil" after German investigators uncovered an explosive drone plot in Leipzig involving two suspects linked to Moscow.
