European leaders responded to explosive drone discoveries in Germany while Russia launched fresh strikes on Kyiv's energy grid.

Russian forces launched additional overnight drone strikes against Kyiv, injuring a civilian following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s speech to the United Nations General Assembly. Concurrently, Russia’s Defense Ministry announced a targeted campaign against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure ahead of winter. Ukrainian forces responded by escalating drone strikes against Russian oil refineries and fuel facilities.

In Europe, security concerns heightened after explosive drones were discovered in Leipzig, Germany, where authorities identified two suspects linked to Moscow. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen strongly condemned foreign interference, stating, "We do not tolerate attacks on EU soil," and affirmed Brussels' readiness to address hybrid threats.
