Negotiations between Albin Kurti and Lumir Abdixhiku failed again on Wednesday, leaving Kosovo without an agreement on forming new institutions ahead of Thursday's parliamentary session.

Negotiations between Self-Determination Movement (LVV) leader Albin Kurti and Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) leader Lumir Abdixhiku ended without an agreement on Wednesday, marking the third failed attempt to form new governing institutions.

The unannounced meeting at the Assembly followed an internal gathering of LDK lawmakers, where several representatives reiterated that securing the presidency for their party was necessary to ensure a balance of power. Kurti confirmed after the discussion that no consensus had been reached between the political factions.

The impasse comes ahead of the Assembly's scheduled constitutive session on Thursday, leaving the executive formation unresolved.
