Kenya has confirmed its first fatal case of Ebola after a citizen who had been residing in the Democratic Republic of Congo for seven years passed away in Nairobi.
According to Kenyan Health Minister Aden Duale, the patient initially fell ill about a month ago in DR Congo and received medical care in multiple hospitals there before traveling back to Kenya. The individual arrived at Nairobi's primary airport on Saturday, passing through standard health screening procedures before succumbing to the illness days later.
