Italy faces fourth heatwave of the season with alerts issued across 27 cities

Italy is enduring its fourth heatwave of the year, prompting national health authorities to issue weather warnings across 27 major cities.

In Rome, temperatures reached 37 degrees Celsius on Thursday, forcing locals and tourists to seek refuge in shaded areas and utilize public water fountains to cool down. Health officials have urged residents and visitors to refrain from direct exposure to the sun during peak afternoon hours and to maintain adequate hydration as extreme heat conditions persist across the region.
