Italian authorities are advancing investigations into a series of recent fatal incidents across the country.
In Varese, 44-year-old suspect Mirko Bertellini faces murder charges after intentionally ramming his car into 36-year-old Federico Venco, who was riding a scooter. Authorities disclosed that Bertellini had prior criminal records and that investigators discovered a knife and a large stone inside his vehicle. Venco had been helping Bertellini’s former girlfriend find the meeting location near a cemetery.
In Verona, 52-year-old Andrea Rizzardi Recchia remains in custody after confessing to fatally stabbing his mother, Grazia Rizzardi, twice. Recchia told investigators he acted at her request to end her suffering.
Meanwhile, Valerio Gentile has died at Ospedale dei Castelli following a July 9 acid attack by a former partner in Pomezia, with officials reviewing the exact circumstances as he was recovering from physical injuries.
