Italian authorities have made key progress in separate homicide investigations in Rome, Verona, and Varese following arrests and confessions.

Italian law enforcement authorities have made progress in several distinct homicide investigations across the country.

In Rome, police detained the partner of 30-year-old Dafne Rebaudo after video evidence undermined initial assumptions that her fatal fall from a Tor Bella Monaca balcony on July 13 was a suicide. Investigators suspect the incident followed a drug-related dispute.

In Verona, 52-year-old Andrea Rizzardi Recchia confessed to fatally stabbing his elderly mother, Grazia Rizzardi, claiming he acted to end her suffering.

Meanwhile, near Varese, 36-year-old Federico Venco was killed after being intentionally struck by a vehicle. According to police, the driver mistakenly assumed Venco was his ex-partner's new companion, whereas Venco had simply offered the woman assistance while she was lost.
