Iranian president says contact with Supreme Leader Khamenei is difficult

Iranian President Pezeshkian acknowledged that communicating with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is currently difficult, amid ongoing speculation over the leader's public absence.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian admitted during a state television interview that maintaining contact with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is "very difficult at the moment." However, Pezeshkian added that Khamenei's "presence is a very great source of strength for us to continue."
The statement represents a rare acknowledgement of communication issues surrounding the leader, who has not made a public appearance since US-Israeli strikes targeted Iran on February 28. Mojtaba Khamenei assumed leadership following the death of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in the initial attack.
Reports indicate Mojtaba Khamenei may have been injured during the strike and has since communicated primarily in writing. Pezeshkian provided no further details regarding the causes of the difficulty.
