Tehran has adopted an offensive posture following the end of a 60-day truce with Washington, as naval strikes near the Strait of Hormuz intensify.

Tensions between Tehran and Washington have escalated following the expiration of a 60-day memorandum of understanding aimed at securing a permanent peace agreement. Iranian officials announced a transition to a "completely offensive" military stance, declaring they will not yield until achieving the "complete defeat" of American forces in the region. Washington confirmed it has no intention of extending the temporary ceasefire.

The diplomatic collapse quickly sparked direct military engagements near the Strait of Hormuz. Following Iranian strikes against a US warship, US Central Command targeted five Iranian oil tankers, sinking one vessel. Observers warn that rising economic pressures and maritime clashes significantly heighten the risk of a broader regional conflict.
