French political leaders and business representatives continue to stake out policy ground as preparations for the 2027 presidential election accelerate.
Former economy minister Bruno Le Maire has published a policy manifesto advocating broad cooperation to counter political extremes. On the left, Place Publique leader Raphaël Glucksmann is preparing to formally launch his presidential campaign ahead of a planned social-democratic primary. Meanwhile, La France Insoumise figure Jean-Luc Mélenchon outlined proposals on national television to create an "ecological state" with reorganized regional bodies to address climate hazards.
Concurrently, employer federation Les Entrepreneurs urged all contenders to place economic policy and business competitiveness at the core of the debate, warning that financial realities risk being sidelined.
