Former Split mayor Željko Kerum arrested in USKOK anti-corruption probe

Croatian police and USKOK have arrested former Split mayor Željko Kerum and two others as authorities search his family property.
Croatian anti-corruption agency USKOK and police have arrested former Split mayor and businessman Željko Kerum in Vela Luka. Authorities also detained Kerum's nephew, Igor Sapunar, and Andrija Polić, a former spatial planning official from Kaštela, while searching Kerum's family estate and property.
The arrests come shortly after Deputy Prime Minister and Construction Minister Branko Bačić addressed reports of alleged illegal construction linked to Kerum in Kaštela, noting that his ministry had received no formal requests for administrative supervision. Separately, the Croatian government approved its annual state asset management plan, which aims to generate approximately €75.4 million in revenue this year through transparent and sustainable real estate management.
