Authorities in the United States are searching for approximately 15 missing people following a severe flash flood in Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona. The deluge occurred on Saturday, severely affecting the Bright Angel Canyon and Phantom Ranch areas.
The National Park Service, working alongside state emergency officials, initiated evacuations and requested public assistance to locate individuals who remain unaccounted for. Emergency services reported significant debris, including large boulders and metal elements, carried into the Colorado River by torrents of water.
At least one fatality has been reported—a 46-year-old man whose details have not been fully disclosed. Officials noted that some unaccounted individuals may simply be out of contact due to the remote terrain.
