A US-owned floating LNG storage tanker caught fire at Egypt's Damietta port following a suspected drone strike, authorities said.
An explosion and fire broke out on a US-owned floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessel at the Egyptian port of Damietta during offloading operations. According to maritime security firm Ambrey, initial assessments indicate the Marshall Islands-flagged ship was struck by at least one drone. Security sources indicated that additional Egyptian gas tankers may also have been targeted in the incident. Egypt's Petroleum Ministry confirmed the fire and reported that no casualties occurred. No group has immediately claimed responsibility for the strike.
