European leaders met at the MED9 summit to discuss defense readiness, energy price caps, and electoral reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
European leaders at the MED9 summit in Split addressed European defense, energy security, and institutional adaptation. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen warned that decision-making systems "were created for a different world" and must adapt to geopolitical pressures.
In bilateral discussions, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković met with Von der Leyen to discuss energy market stabilization amid Middle East tensions, highlighting Croatian price controls on fuel, gas, and electricity. Plenković also emphasized political developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, advocating for electoral reforms that guarantee equal representation for all three constituent peoples and resolve concerns regarding Croat representation in the presidency.
