European leaders at the MED9 summit in Split discussed defense challenges, energy security, and electoral reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Following the MED9 summit in Split, European discussions focused on defense challenges, migration, and energy stabilization. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen highlighted the need for structural adaptation, stating that decision-making systems "were created for a different world" amid rising geopolitical pressures and Black Sea security concerns.

In bilateral talks, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković and Von der Leyen addressed energy market volatility stemming from Middle East tensions, with Plenković detailing Croatian price controls on fuel, gas, and electricity.
