At the MED9 summit in Split, EU leaders addressed security, energy prices, and electoral reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

European Union leaders gathered at the MED9 summit in Split to discuss defense capabilities, migration management, and economic cohesion. Against the backdrop of volatile energy prices linked to Middle East instability, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen remarked that "our systems were created for a different world," calling for structural adaptation to align with current geopolitical pressures.

On the sidelines of the summit, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković held talks with von der Leyen concerning regional energy security and political developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Plenković emphasized the necessity of electoral reform to ensure equal representation for the country's three constituent peoples, highlighting the importance of electing a legitimate Croat representative to the collective presidency.
