Emergency crews continue firefighting operations in Germany, Belgium, and France, bringing some blazes under control despite challenging terrain and smoke evacuations.

Firefighters across Germany, Belgium, and France continue to tackle several active wildfires amid persisting hot weather. In Baden-Württemberg's Black Forest, a blaze near Schramberg expanded as steep terrain complicated ground operations. Emergency responders in Belgium and Germany maintained efforts around the High Fens nature reserve, where heavy smoke prompted the precautionary evacuation of 30 residents in nearby Monschau. Meanwhile, officials reported progress in North Rhine-Westphalia, where a 300-hectare fire in Hürtgenwald was brought under control. In southwestern France, emergency services contained a flare-up in the Landes department after pine forest fires damaged roughly 1,580 hectares and forced 650 evacuations, though authorities confirmed no residential structures were destroyed.
