Firefighters across Germany, Belgium, and France continue to combat expanding wildfires as steep terrain and overnight re-ignitions force localized evacuations.

Emergency services across Western Europe continue battling severe wildfires driven by heat conditions. In Germany's Baden-Württemberg region, firefighters face difficult terrain near Schramberg in the Black Forest, where expanding flames along steep slopes prevent crews from accessing active hotspots directly. Meanwhile, responders in North Rhine-Westphalia achieved progress against a 300-hectare blaze in Hürtgenwald, bringing it under control to advance toward the center of the burned area.

Along the German-Belgian border, conditions in the High Fens nature reserve remain tense. Although the fire's forward motion toward Germany halted, intense smoke prompted 30 evacuations in Monschau, with military helicopters aiding containment efforts.

In southwestern France's Landes department, a wildfire in a pine forest flared up overnight after consuming 1,580 hectares. Local authorities evacuated 650 people, though no homes were destroyed.
