Eastern European tensions rise amid NATO exercises and reported Russian drone bases

Military friction deepens with NATO drills near Kaliningrad, reports of secret Russian drone bases, and renewed strikes on Black Sea cargo ships.
Tensions across Eastern Europe and the Black Sea region have intensified following a series of military maneuvers and reported covert deployments. According to media reports, US-led NATO forces recently conducted operations near Russia's Kaliningrad exclave, utilizing American and Norwegian aircraft alongside Polish ground units. NATO reiterated that its activities remain defensive and focused on operational readiness.
Concurrently, an investigation reported by media outlets revealed Russia has established ten covert bases equipped with specialized launch pads for long-range kamikaze drones near NATO territory, with several sites actively targeting Ukraine.
Meanwhile, maritime conflicts in the Black Sea escalated further as the Russian Ministry of Defence announced strikes against three additional commercial cargo ships, reflecting a broader surge in attacks on merchant vessels by both Kyiv and Moscow.
