Earth Overshoot Day arrives as global resource budget exhausted

Humanity entered ecological debt on July 30 after exhausting Earth's annual natural resources, according to environmental group WWF-Adria.
Humanity entered ecological debt on Thursday, July 30, having consumed all the natural resources that Earth can replenish within a single year, according to environmental organisation WWF-Adria. From this point forward, human consumption relies on exhausting natural capital faster than ecosystems can regenerate.
Although Earth Overshoot Day occurred six days later this year compared to the previous year, conservation experts warn that the shift does not reflect a significant long-term reduction in environmental impact. WWF-Adria highlighted that humanity continues to demand resources at a rate exceeding the planet's sustainable biological capacity.
