Five provinces in Cuba, including Havana, were hit by widespread power outages following a partial grid collapse caused by fuel shortages.

Five of Cuba's 15 provinces, including the capital city of Havana and several western regions, experienced widespread electricity blackouts following a partial collapse of the national power grid at 6:07 p.m. State power officials cited severe fuel shortages at power plants as a primary cause of the failure. The island nation has experienced repeated large-scale power disruptions in recent months amid ongoing economic difficulties and restrictions on oil deliveries to the country. Power restoration efforts began shortly after the system failure, though grid stabilization remains fragile due to limited generation capacity.
