Cross-border strikes between Russia and Ukraine leave dozens dead

Russian missile strikes have killed at least 20 people in Ukraine, while Ukrainian drone attacks inside Russia and in border regions left eight dead.
Russian missile and drone strikes across Ukraine have killed at least 20 people and wounded dozens, with the Kyiv region suffering the highest toll after an attack left at least 17 dead and 44 injured. Further strikes hit residential buildings in Kharkiv, killing two, while Kramatorsk and Zaporizhzhia also reported casualties and damage.
Simultaneously, Ukrainian drone attacks struck multiple targets inside Russia. Explosions and fires hit logistics warehouses operated by the online retailer Wildberries in Moscow and Saint Petersburg, resulting in at least five deaths in the capital. In Russia's Belgorod border region, an additional strike killed three people.
Along the front lines, troops report increasingly hazardous conditions across contested territory, where pervasive drone surveillance makes any exposed movement lethal.
