Cross-border drone warfare between Ukraine and Russia has surged as both sides launch extensive aerial attacks and Moscow expands launch sites near the border.

Cross-border drone warfare between Ukraine and Russia has escalated sharply amid intensified aerial strikes and expanded military infrastructure. Russian defense authorities reported intercepting a large-scale Ukrainian wave of hundreds of drones directed across multiple Russian regions, including Moscow and occupied Crimea. Simultaneously, Russian drone attacks struck Ukrainian targets, inflicting casualties in Zaporizhzhia and damaging infrastructure in Kharkiv.

The aerial escalation coincides with reports that Moscow has established at least ten specialized drone launch installations along its borders with Ukraine and Belarus. Regional tensions also reverberated across NATO's eastern frontier following the interception of an unmanned aircraft over Latvia by alliance fighter jets. Meanwhile, Moscow issued diplomatic warnings to the United Kingdom over its provision of combat drones to Kyiv.
