The FAA has certified Boeing's 737 Max 7 aircraft, clearing the smallest variant of the jetliner family for commercial service following years of regulatory delays.

The United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has granted certification to Boeing's 737 Max 7 aircraft, clearing the smallest variant of the jetliner family for commercial service and customer deliveries.

The approval represents a milestone for the aircraft manufacturer following years of regulatory delays, production hurdles, and heightened safety scrutiny. Certification was initially anticipated as early as 2019, but the timeline was severely extended after two fatal crashes involving Boeing's 737 Max 8 variant in 2018 and 2019 resulted in 346 deaths.

With regulatory approval secured, Boeing can now begin delivering the fuel-efficient aircraft to commercial airlines, resolving a long-standing delay in its narrow-body line.
