Yemeni pro-government forces claim control of strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait

Yemeni government forces, supported by a Saudi-led coalition, have launched a major offensive to push back Houthi rebels around the strategic Bab al-Mandab Strait. Ground units, including the Giants Brigades and National Shield forces, took control of key infrastructure in the Dhubab district, including its airport, and encircled remaining Houthi positions along the Red Sea coast.

Military officials stated that pro-government troops have "secured" the vital shipping lane following counter-operations supported by coalition airstrikes. In response, Houthi fighters claimed to have launched retaliatory attacks targeting key infrastructure in Riyadh, including oil refineries and military installations. Meanwhile, Pakistan and Turkey agreed to send troops to support Saudi Arabia.
