US indicts five alleged Russian agents over global sabotage and murder plots
US prosecutors charged five alleged Russian agents over assassination plots against Ukraine allies, while Denmark revealed domestic sabotage against defense firms.
United States federal prosecutors have unsealed an indictment charging five alleged Russian intelligence operatives with orchestrating a global sabotage and targeted assassination campaign. According to the Department of Justice, the network recruited individuals across Europe and the United States to surveil and attack figures supporting Ukraine, including a June 2024 operation in Prague. All five suspects remain at large.
Concurrently, Denmark's Security and Intelligence Service presented data at a Copenhagen security conference indicating Russian agents carried out physical sabotage against domestic defense suppliers aiding Kyiv. Authorities framed the incidents as an escalation in Moscow's hybrid warfare strategy. Russian officials have not issued an official response to the allegations.
