US authorities have charged five alleged Russian agents over covert assassination and sabotage plots across Europe and North America.

Federal prosecutors in New York have unsealed an indictment charging five alleged Russian intelligence operatives with running a global network tasked with sabotage and targeted assassinations. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the suspects recruited individuals across North America and Europe to surveil and eliminate targets "aligned, or perceived to be aligned, with Ukraine".

The unsealed charges detail several planned operations, including a June 2024 attack in Prague, alongside broader efforts to finance covert activities. Concurrently, Denmark's Security and Intelligence Service reported that Russian actors executed physical sabotage against Danish defense contractors supporting Kyiv. All five suspects remain at large as law enforcement investigates.
