US indicts five alleged Russian agents over plots targeting Ukraine supporters
US federal prosecutors have charged five alleged Russian agents over global assassination and sabotage plots targeting Ukraine allies as Denmark reports defense firm sabotage.
The United States Department of Justice has unsealed an indictment charging five alleged Russian intelligence operatives with orchestrating targeted killings and sabotage operations across Europe and North America. According to Manhattan federal court documents, the suspects managed a Kremlin-backed network that paid individuals globally to surveil and execute attacks against targets "aligned, or perceived to be aligned, with Ukraine."
Federal prosecutors linked the campaign to a June 2024 attack in Prague alongside broader plot lines targeting pro-Ukraine figures. All five accused individuals remain at large.
Concurrently, Denmark's Security and Intelligence Service reported that Russian actors carried out physical sabotage against Danish defense contractors supplying military hardware to Kyiv, describing the attacks as an escalation in hybrid warfare.
