U.S. forces disabled a ship in the Gulf of Oman for breaching a naval blockade as President Donald Trump ordered frozen Iranian assets used for maritime compensation.

United States military forces have disabled a commercial vessel in the Gulf of Oman after it allegedly attempted to breach an established naval blockade four times. According to U.S. Central Command, American forces targeted the ship's engine room following multiple warnings, leaving the vessel inoperable. It remains unconfirmed whether any crew members sustained injuries during the engagement.

The action follows an order from U.S. President Donald Trump authorizing the use of frozen Iranian assets to compensate shipping companies for damages suffered in the Strait of Hormuz. The order targets roughly $100 billion in global Iranian funds, including $2 billion controlled directly by Washington.

The ongoing military campaign and financial directives continue to destabilize global markets, with crude oil prices exceeding $100 a barrel.
