US extends deadline for Lukoil foreign asset sales to August 22

The US Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control has extended the license permitting negotiations over the sale of Lukoil's international assets until August 22.
The US Department of the Treasury has extended a general license allowing negotiations for the sale or transfer of Lukoil International GmbH until August 22. According to a document published by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the measure grants additional time to conduct transactions involving the Russian energy company's international holdings.
Washington previously imposed sanctions targeting Lukoil and its majority-owned subsidiaries last October. The renewed license permits foreign entities to continue discussions regarding the divestment or restructuring of affected assets without violating US secondary sanctions.
