A CBO report projects the US Trump-class battleship fleet could cost $275 billion, as concerns also emerge over conditions aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln.

An analysis by the US Congressional Budget Office indicates that a proposed program to construct 15 Trump-class battleships could cost roughly $275 billion through 2056, exceeding initial projections by over 50 percent. The lead vessel alone is estimated at $23.4 billion, driven by nuclear propulsion systems and high displacement, while domestic shipyard capacity constraints pose additional logistical hurdles.

Meanwhile, congressional lawmakers have sought clarification from the Pentagon regarding reported food and water shortages, alongside deteriorating mental health conditions, aboard the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln following an extended deployment exceeding 200 days at sea.

In domestic policy, the administration has also introduced targeted restrictions aiming to curb birth tourism and restrict birthright citizenship for specific foreign categories.
