Ukrainian president Zelenskyy meets Trump in US to discuss air defense and peace

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has met with Donald Trump during a visit to the United States, focusing on air defense, military cooperation, and steps toward peace.

The discussions led to a major drone agreement between Washington and Kyiv, signaling evolving bilateral relations. The meeting coincided with reports identifying the past month as the deadliest for Ukrainian civilians in recent times, emphasizing the critical need for sustained military aid. Observers noted a shift in the American stance from direct support toward a mediating role in the conflict, alongside a cooling in relations between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. During his US visit, Zelenskyy is also scheduled to attend a farewell ceremony for an American senator.
