Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warns of severe air defense missile shortages while Kyiv advances EU accession steps and receives €1.4 billion in immobilized Russian asset yields.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky cautioned that air defense interceptor deliveries have dropped to a third of last year's levels, leaving the nation vulnerable during intensified Russian drone and missile bombardments. Speaking after talks with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Zelensky emphasized the critical shortage of interceptors needed to defend key infrastructure and urban centers.

Despite defense supply bottlenecks, Kyiv reported diplomatic and financial developments. Zelensky stated Ukraine has met all criteria to open four additional European Union membership negotiation clusters. Meanwhile, the European Union disbursed a fifth tranche of €1.4 billion generated from interest on frozen Russian central bank assets to support Ukraine's defense and economic resilience.
