Ukraine hits Russian rocket and aircraft plants amid intense eastern fighting

Ukrainian long-range strikes hit key Russian military-industrial facilities in Samara while heavy ground combat intensified across eastern Ukraine. Satellite imagery verified damage at the Progress Rocket Space Centre and the adjacent Aviakor aircraft maintenance plant following missile attacks. Regional authorities confirmed incoming strikes, which coincided with reported drone activity near military sites in Nizhny Novgorod, Penza, and Rostov regions.

Simultaneously, Ukraine's General Staff reported 254 combat engagements over a 24-hour period. Russian troops launched repeated assaults to penetrate Ukrainian positions, particularly along the Lyman, Kostiantynivka, and Pokrovsk operational axes, while attempting to divide Ukrainian bridgeheads near Kupiansk. Ground combat was also accompanied by Russian strikes targeting Ukrainian industrial infrastructure.
