Ukrainian troops report advances near Kupiansk and Lyman, while Russian forces claim progress near Sumy and strikes in the Kyiv region.

Conflicting reports continue to emerge from the front lines in eastern and northern Ukraine as both militaries report contrasting tactical developments.

North of Kupiansk, Ukrainian forces are advancing along the right bank of the Oskil River, while military officials prepare to confirm control over up to 200 square kilometres in the Lyman sector.

Conversely, the Russian Ministry of Defence claimed that its forces captured several settlements on the approaches to Sumy and carried out strikes against ammunition storage depots in the Kyiv region. On the southern front in Zaporizhzhia, General Valery Gerasimov, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, publicly rejected reports of Ukrainian battlefield advances, insisting that defensive positions remain stable.
