Ukraine faces rising security and funding concerns amid ongoing Russian strikes

Ukraine faces mounting security and financial pressures as Russian drone strikes intensify and European partners question long-term funding.
Ukraine is confronting severe military and financial pressures as Russian forces step up aerial bombardment across major cities, including Kyiv. The strikes feature ballistic missiles and new jet-powered drones, which Ukrainian air defenses find harder to intercept than older models.
Despite the military escalation, diplomatic and infrastructure developments continue. The International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed that the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant was reconnected to the electrical grid. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also noted that officials from Ukraine, the United States, and European nations plan to meet soon, while the Kremlin floated potential peace talks. Meanwhile, European partners have raised questions over funding, with French officials asking who will cover costs.
