Trump urges Ukraine and Russia to reach peace deal before winter

US President Donald Trump has called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin to reach a peace agreement before winter. Following a phone call with Putin, Trump expressed confidence that the Russian leader seeks a settlement, adding that a mutual agreement between both heads of state is necessary.

Zelensky characterized his recent meeting with Trump as "positive and productive," stating that both Washington and Kyiv share the goal of ending the conflict prior to the winter season. The Ukrainian leadership indicated that a resolution could be achieved in the coming months. However, neither side has publicly outlined specific terms or preconditions for potential negotiations to commence.
